It keeps re appearing in Users. It does not appear in control panel add remove programs. What keeps downloading it. Gear soft ware is wow files or windows on windows that I do not need in windows 7. no old programs running. I have had malware that uses the old windows system to intergrate windows media files and dial out and take over my modem and any computer attached to it. Don't know the file that downloads it. Could have been googleupdatesetup.exe that was hiding in another unused drive. (now de -formatted so it cant hide there)

It is the main executable for the Main DIFx Installer from GEAR Software, Inc. This company produces professional applications for DVD/CD/Blue Ray etc. burning devices, and also independent drivers, which are bundled and used by many different applications to add CD/DVD recording capabilities to their software products. Check more on http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.php
So it very likely is a component that your computer's hardware needs, and isn't from anything you installed. I have also read that it is associated with Norton's CD/DVD backup in some cases, for those that have Norton. And it is a required file for iTunes 10 and up, so there are quite a few common programs that need this EXE file. And infact uninstalling it (without properly reinstalling it) can cause some serious errors.
I haven't found a single source that stated it is a malicious file, however it CAN be modified by malware which generally manifests in errors (see third link).
