PDB_Tray.exe , is part of the "Pocket Data Backup" software found on some new external hard drives, and works in the background to monitor plug and play drives so backups are made on installation of the drive automatically. However I have found great difficulty in removing it from my system after it is installed. At this time I have removed it from the registry, and unticked it in the MsConfig startup tab to no avail.

PDB_Tray.exe , is part of the "Pocket Data Backup" software found on some new external hard drives, and works in the background to monitor plug and play drives so backups are made on installation of the drive automatically. So-far I have found no evidence to prove it to be of a viral nature or malware.
However I have found great difficulty in removing it from my system after it is installed. At this time I have removed it from my system by going to the desktop;
1.) In the system tray stop the PDB_Tray.exe and exit from it, then
2.) click START, then click on RUN, then type RegEdit, press enter, then press the “Ctrl + F” keys on your keyboard, and type “PDB_Tray.exe” (when found delete that folder from the registry)
3.) click START, then click on RUN, then type MsConfig and press enter, click on the “Startup” tab and untick the box next to the “PDB_Tray.exe, then click “Ok”, and when prompted restart your computer.
4.) To finish up you can remove the empty entries by clicking START, then click on RUN, then type RegEdit, press enter, then click “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftShared ToolsMSConfig” and remove corresponding entries in “startupreg” to clean up your Startup tab in MsConfig... you can also use this procedure to clean up unticked entries in the “service” tab of MsConfig. GOOD LUCK, BE CAREFUL, AND HAVE A NICE DAY!
