-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------By KirkH420 2021-07-28 09:26:31 I found 2 instances of this on my Asus g15, they were in the locations that this site said. You will find that the serial number within the file name wont match your version, that's fine. What I'm going to try to do is use "Unlocker.exe" to rename these files to "name.exe.DISABLED" as I do not believe this file is successfully doing anything on my machine. My machine shows this file launching and terminating within 3 seconds and it keeps doing that over and over and over. The reason I noticed it was because this is causing my mouse to display the spinning wait-circle every time that it does it.
This is a new behavior that came right after I decided to try using Link 2 MyASUS with my android phone and Bluetooth. It's supposed to be convenient but you wont find any more features offered than are available in the YourPhone.exe app that comes on your win10 pc.
Final Report:
I removed the file as described above. Appending ".DISABLED" to the filename will in fact make it so whatever was launching it, will no longer be able to do so. The result of my doing this was simply that it stopped running. Further testing:
Launched win10(WUP) MyASUS app with no issues, things still seem to be working including the battery health maintainer keeping my battery only charged to 50% (which is a good thing).
Failures:
Within the MyASUS app, clicking on 'Link to MyASUS' it displays "Whoops! Something went wrong. Please remove the old version: ASUS Sync, then try to start Link to MyASUS again." A button is provided 'Remove ASUS Sync.'

I was then immediately taken to the 'Link to MyASUS' man panel where it helped me make sure my phone was on the same WiFi (or Bluetooth) and it connected. I dropped a random file into "Drop Here to Send File" and the phone received the file. It may be that the error above was unrelated.
Screen Sharing actually works too, although because I already use 2 monitors (desktop stretched across them both) it creates a 3rd Desktop which I can drag any open window onto. It will display on the phone screen.
In conclusion, I find that the file in question is not a needed windows component nor is it even really required for Link to MyASUS to work properly!
