Getting the message when trying to install Xcelera PACS R3.1L1 2009 Build: 3.1.1.422 workstation on Windows 7 64-bit. --- "CommonSearch is failing. You cannot install other applications without CommonSearch. Installation will be aborted." How can I resolve this and get the application to install? Thanks

Try to install in compability mode XP Service Pack 2.

Yes you can install this version of Xcelera on Win 7 with out the dramatic effect of using an XP VM. See below as the reason you are getting that error is because of user account control.(UAC) Even if it is off the setup program calls other modules to install in the same context that you started the install with which at times requires admin elevation. So what we did was to take the install source and place it on the desktop of the device and change both the compatibility and the run as for all users to run as Win XP and as administrator. Then run the setup and install the modules you want with no issue. Of course there will be some location information that you will need to supply along the way. After the install is complete you will have to restart. After it restarts do not open the program. You then will have to goto the program files folder and find the launcher app and changes its properties to the same as you did for the install file in the beginning. AKA compat. XP SP3 and run as administrator for all users. Hope that helps.
