SoftwareUPdater.UI.exe is always saying I need an update.
I do not know where to find this on the computer and I don't know if it is safe.

My problem with SoftwareUpdater.ui is that there never seems to be a name of who sends the file! I MAY need it, but - if I can't identify it, I'm not goingto accept it! How can I identify who sends it to me?7733

I do not know where SoftwareUPDater came from and I do not know what they update. I tried to discontinue it since I don't know what it is updating. I would like to delete it.
So, please, let me know how to either know what is updated, or how to delete it.

I am not sure... but! I thik it's just warning you someone wants to send you something you might not want on your computer! Especially if - as in my case - the maker - vendor - sender of the thing cannot be identified!

My folks have had this same issue on their computer running Win7 Pro. I found the file this is pertaining to in C:Program Files (x86)Software Updater. In thios folder, there are four (4) .exe sub-commands & 1 .dll file. I still am unsure if I can just delete the intire sub folder or not, since Revo Uninstaller nor Windows Uninstaller had such an option. hen anyone finds a solitution to this delema, PLEASE let everyone know!

This is an adware at best, and some other users of my computer (kids) got it somehow. I recommend removing it asap. It starts everytime Windows loads, but you can locate that it's starting as a disguised service via registry. Run Regedit (at your own risk. If you don't know how registry works, you can corrupt your PC). Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservices and locate SystemStore (NOT SystemREstore) and delete the key and values. Then go to this folder: C:Program Files (x86)softwareupdater (or it can be called "C:Program Filessoftwareupdater" and delete the softwareupdater folder altogether. That's the only way I've found that I could remove this pest.

If anyone needs help spotting it on Windows 7 or 8 and cannot find the folder, have it open or "popped up." Go to your Task manager and look at the processes. You'll see the name. DO NOT END TASK. First, right click and select "Open file location." Now you may end the task, and/or close the window. Delete the entire folder, then delete it from the recycle bin. I just removed it myself!
